The pendant, typically worn on a long chain so that it rests near the mother’s belly, contains a tiny metal ball or beads that produce a gentle chime when it moves. In Mayan culture, each harmony ball is considered unique to the wearer and shouldn’t be shared, as it symbolically connects the wearer to their guardian angel.
